PORT RECEPTION FACILITIES 

Annexure-I 

Oil Reception Facility

 

  • At KDS
  • Firms having approval from Pollution Control Board have been engaged for collection of used oil and waste oil. Crude oil as cargo is not handled at KDS . Facility is available free of charge to vessels and available 24x7, however 48 hrs advance notice is required for arrangements.
  • At HDC
  • Firms having approval from Pollution Control Board have been engaged for collection of oily waste . No Port charges are levied for collection of Oily waste and available 24x7, however 48 hrs advance notice is required for arrangements.

 

Annexure-II

 

Reception facility for Noxious Liquid Substances carried in bulk

 

  • At KDS

 

  • Noxious liquid in bulk normally handled at KDS are Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether, Sulphuric Acid, Phenol and Caustic Soda. Reception facility for the said residue is arranged through Pollution Control Board approved handlers having such reception facility and is available 24x7; however 48 hrs notice is required for arrangements. No Port charges are levied for collection.

 

  • At HDC
  • Noxious liquids in bulk, normally handled at HDC are (Category X-Ammonia),(Category-Sulphuric Acid, Palm Oil, Caustic Soda, Benzene, Veg. Oil and Fats), (Categor-Z-Acetic Acid, Phosphoric Acid, Methyl Tertiary Butyl) etc. Firm having approval from Pollution Control Board have been engaged for collection of Noxious liquid substance residue/ water mixture from tank washing. No Port charges are levied for collection of Noxious liquid substance residue from tank washing and available 24x7, however 48 hrs notice is required for arrangements.

 

 

Annexure-IV

 

Reception of sewage

  • At KDS
  • Enlisted contractor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation / West Bengal Waste Management LTD will provide service of collection of sewage from vessels at KDS and will dispose the same to Municipal Authorities sewage system as per regulatory requirement. Collection facility is available 24x7, however 48 hrs notice is required to arrange however, collection charges will be applicable as per rates approved by KMC. No Port charges are levied.

 

 

  • At HDC
  • Sewage reception facilities for vessels calling at HDC have been made by way of stand by arrangement of Lorry specially designed for the purpose. The sewage so collected would be taken to Sewage Treatment Plant of Haldia Dock Complex for treatment and disposal. Matter is also being taken up with Municipality to have an arrangement with them. No Port charges will be levied for collection of sewage and will be available 24x7, however 48 hrs advance notice will be required for arrangements.

 

Annexure-V

Reception of garbage

 

  • At KDS

 

  • For plastic, food waste, domestic waste etc. in shore bins are provided at alternative berths at KPD & NSD and same will be disposed of through authorised contractor of Municipal Corporation arranged by KoPT. Such waste can be dumped 24x7. The facility is available free of charge.
  • For operational waste : Through local vendor if need arises.
  • For cooking oil : Through Pollution Control Board approved recycler.
  • For expired Pyrotechnics : Through DG Shipping approved Workshop.

Rates:

MOB Marker: Rs. 12000/ each,

LTA: Rs. 8000/ each

Rocket parachute flare: 1400 each

Orange smoke float: 1200 each

GST for above as applicable

  • For expired medicine: Through Pollution Control Board approved recycler or Port hospital.
  • Animal Caracas: Authorised contractor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation/ Pollution Control Board approved recycler.
  • Incinerator ash: Through Pollution Control Board approved recycler.

 

For pyrotechnics, expired medicines, animal caracas and incinerator ash, requisition to be placed to Port Authority at KDS 48 hours in advance.

  • At HDC:

Note 1: At Berth - segregated garbage is collected by Haldia Municipality dumpers.

Note 2:At Oil Jetty - segregated garbage to be kept at the garbage vat located outside the Oil Jetty and same collected by Haldia Municipality dumper.

  • Reception facility for ship generated garbage is being provided with the assistance of Local Municipality, firm having approval from Pollution Control Board have been engaged by Local Municipality. Collection of garbage by the Municipality Trucks at berths directly from vessels is daily at pre notified schedule. Garbage vats are located outside Haldia Oil Jetties and segregated garbage is to be disposed in the VAT and and thereafter collected by Municipality Trucks daily at pre notified schedule. No Port charges are levied for collection of garbage. 48 hours advance notice is required for arrangements; however, if the facility is required by the vessel beyond the scheduled time, the same can be arranged accordingly.

For pyrotechnics, expired medicines, Medical Waste, Quarantine waste and cooking oil 48 hours advance notice is required for arrangements.

 

Annexure-VI

Ozone depleting substances, equipment containing such substance and exhaust gas cleaning substances

  

  • At KDS
  • A Private Firm having approval from Pollution Control Board has been engaged for collection of Ozone depleting substances, equipments containing such substances and exhaust cleaning residues. No Port charges are levied and is available 24x7, however, 48 hours notice is required for arrangements.

 

  •  At HDC
  • Firm having approval from Pollution Control Board have been engaged for collection of Ozone Depleting substances, equipments containing such substances and exhaust cleaning residues. No Port charges are levied for this facility and is available 24x7, however 48 hours notice is required for arrangements.
