Annexure-I

Oil Reception Facility

  • At KDS
    • Firms having approval from Pollution Control Board have been engaged for collection of Oily waste. Requisition to be placed to Port Authority 48 hours in advance.
  • At HDC
    • A private firm having approval from Central Pollution Control Board has been engaged for collection of used / waste oil from ships calling at Haldia Dock Complex. In addition, oil reception facility is available at oil jetty of Haldia Dock Complex, wherein oily waste water can be received at treatment plant having two slop oil receiving tanks, each having capacity 6300 kl., fitted with floating skimmer for separation of oil from water. There is no charge for providing oil reception facilities. Requisition has to be placed to Port authorities at KDS ( contact persons stated below) for availing the above facility.

Forty eight hours notice is required to provide reception facilities as stated above at KDS & HDC.

 

Annexure-II

Reception facility for Noxious Liquid Substances carried in bulk

  • At KDS
    • Noxious liquid in bulk normally handled at KDS are Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether, Sulphuric Acid, Phenol and Caustic Soda. Reception facility for the said cargoes is arranged through Pollution Control Board approved handlers having such reception facility. Requisition to be placed to Port Authority 48 hours in advance.

  • At HDC
    • Noxious liquids in bulk, normally handled at HDC are Amonia, Butene, Butadiene, Benzene, Paraxylene, Phosphoric Acid, Mono Ethyl Glycol etc. Reception facilities for the above cargo have been arranged through receivers/ handlers of these cargo, who are also authorized by State Pollution Control Board. Requisition has to be placed to Port authorities at HDC (contact persons stated below) for availing the above facility.

Forty eight hours notice is required to provide reception facilities as stated above at KDS & HDC.

 

Annexure  IV

Reception of sewage

  • At KDS
    • Enlisted contractor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation will provide service of collection of sewage from vessels calling at KDS and will disposed the same to Municipal Authorities sewage system as per regulatory requirement. Requisition to be placed to Port Authority 48 hours in advance.

  • At HDC
    • Sewage reception facilities for vessels calling at HDC have been made by way of stand by arrangement of a Lorry specially designed for the purpose.  The sewage so collected would be taken to Sewage Treatment Plant of Haldia Dock Complex for treatment and disposal.  Matter is also being taken up with Municipality to have an arrangement with them. Requisition has to be placed to Port authorities at HDC (contact persons stated below) for availing the above facility.

Forty eight hours notice is required to provide reception facilities as stated above at KDS & HDC.

 

Annexure  V

Reception of garbage

  • At KDS                                                                                                                                                                                
    • For plastic, food waste, domestic waste etc. In shore bins are provided and alternative berths at KPD & NSD and same will be disposed of through authorised contractor of Municipal Corporation arranged by KoPT.

      For operational waste : Through local vendor if need arises.

      For cooking oil : Through Pollution Control Board approved recycler.

      For expired Pyrotechnics :Through DG Shipping approved Workshop.

      For expired medicines : Through Pollution Control Board approved recycler.

      Animal Caracas : Authorised contractor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation.

      Incinerator ash : Through Pollution Control Board approved recycler.

      For all the above, requisition to be placed to Port Authority 48 hours in advance.

  • At HDC
    • Reception facility for ship generated garbage has been provided with the assistance of Local Municipality.  The facility is available free of charge. Collection of garbage is at pre-notified schedule.

Annexure VI

Ozone depleting substances, exhaust gas substances.

  • At KDS
    • A Private Firms having approval from Pollution Control Board have been engaged for collection of Ozone depleting substances, exhaust gas substances. Requisition to be placed to Port Authority 48 hours in advance.
